ABOUT VENEERS

If your teeth are beginning to discolour or if you have a chipped tooth or a small gap - veneers are the ideal solution.

Giving your teeth a healthy and natural appearance, veneers should last for many years, but just like normal teeth, they can be broken or chipped unless cared for properly.

KS Dental, Private and NHS Dental Practice in Urmston and Sale
  • Dental veneers are a procedure used to help improve the colour, shape and position of teeth.

  • Veneers are made of a thin sheet of porcelain or or a natural composite material.

  • Having dental veneers fitted is a very simple procedure.

What's the procedure for dental veneers?

At your inital consultation we will discuss your needs, clearly explain all of the options available and agree a method of treatment. Usually only two visits to our dental practice will be required.

From the consultation stage the exact colour of porcelain (or a natural composite material) will be chosen to repair or improve the appearance of the affected tooth or teeth. Whichever material is used, it will cover the whole front of the tooth. The result being the natural healthy smile that you have always wanted.

The first process - This involves removing a wafer thin amount of natural tooth enamel to enable a more secure adhesion of the veneer using a very strong bond and colour selection. The amount of enamel removed will be the same thickness as the veneer so the tooth remains the same size on completion. We will take an impression of the tooth at this stage and provide it to the Dental Laboratory who will make the veneer.

The second process - At this stage we will fit the veneer to the tooth and make sure that you are happy with your new smile. With correct care your veneer should last you many years. Your dentist will give you guidance on caring for your investment.
